Keyboard won’t light up and monitor won’t turn on after ‘messing’ with CPU

My friend bought a new CPU but it ended up not fitting in the motherboard, so we put it back in and now we’re having problems when trying to boot it up.

If it "ended up not fitting" then you did something VERY wrong. You have probably damaged the CPU or the motherboard. OR you just have an incompatible combination.

No, the new cpu just wasn’t compatible. So we put the CPU he had back into the computer.

I did the same thing...did you put thermal paste back on because that’s what people are saying to do.
