Keyboard won't work during boot, cant get into BIOS

I changed the boot order for the Hard Drive to boot first and ever since then the keyboard wont work during boot to go into the BIOS.


Any help?

Did you verify all drivers are up to date for it? Try holding the delete key during the restart process and see if that allows you to access the bios.

Yes, drivers are upto date. This only occured about an hour ago after changing boot priority for my Hard Drive > Optical Drive.

Tried, doesn't work.

My keyboard is a Corsair K65 if it helps.

You didn't post any specifics about your PC so its hard to say but if your motherboard has a PS2 port use it as that will likely fix the issue.

If your motherboard does have the old mouse port then it likely came with an PS2 to USB adapter like this:

I took out the SATA cable that was plugged into the Optical drive and it fixed the issue. However, the optical drive seems to make a noise as if its loading a disc when the PC boots up? Any ideas?

I would assume that has something to do with the boot order that is set up in the bios. Check whether you have your HD or optical drive set first in the order.

My hard drive is set in priority in the boot order, and my DVD drive still makes a noise at boot up even when its disabled in bios.

Some Corsair keyboard including my K70 have a toggle switch on the top edge of them to allow for proper BIOS functionality, Your K65 may have this. See this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrySdNWfk_o

I personally have not had to use this BIOS switch but it it possible that with the changes you may in the BIOS for some reason made that mandatory.
