Question Keyboards getting "stuck", happening across all keyboards, through Windows 10 and 11

Hi!

I've been having this problem for a while now. I have tried multiple solutions, but none seem to work and I am at a loss about what it could be the cause. I'm hoping anyone here can help me shed some light into the situation- there are a few post across the web that describe a problem similar to mine, but half of them don't have any answers or I've tried the answers and the problem keeps happening.

Description of the problem: Whenever I am using my keyboard, whether it be to write or play videogames, there will be some times where the keys get stuck as if I was pressing them. It's never the same key, and whenever I am writing it looks like "thisssssssssssssssssssss". Whenever I am playing a game that uses the WASD directional keys, my character moves in the direction of the pressed stuck key, effectively locking me of moving somewhere else (in the games I play, it's perfectly fine to hold W and D to move northeast, yet when this issue happens it's as if the stuck key takes control of the keyboard, copying the behavior of two keys pressed at the same time in writing when one will take priority)

I have two keyboards, a mechanical + membrane one. I have ruled out the possibility of this being a keyboard hardware issue, as I've tried with multiple keyboards and the issue persists.

What I've tried to do so far:
  • Disable sticky keys. This is the most common answer I see, I've disabled them and never turned them back on.
  • Tweak the repeat delay and repeat rate, which only results on lowering the amount of keys being typed. The root issue still persists, it only lowers the amount of keystrokes spammed.
  • Reinstall Keyboard drivers.
  • Reinstall USB drivers.
  • Try multiple USB ports on my motherboard.
  • Disconnect all my devices except for my keyboard.
  • Updated my BIOS.
  • Clean Windows 11 Installation.
At this point, the only thing I can think of is to either try a wireless keyboard (I would need to buy one, so that's why I haven't tried it yet) or to replace my PSU, which would be a big investment.
I have booted into Safe Mode and never encountered this issue, so I am 99% sure that it's a windows problem that somehow persisted from Win10 to Win11. However, I cannot say for sure, since the issue hasn't happened at all in the entire time i've spent to write this post.

Any help with this would be immensely appreciated, as I have no clue of what could it be that is causing this issue and it's extremely annoying.

My PC specs:
ASUS TUF x570 plus wifi
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor - 3.70 GHz
16.0 GB RAM Dual Channel 3200Mhz
NVIDIA GEForce RTX 2070 Super
2 SSDs - 1 HDD (Currently disconnected)
EVGA 600 BR 80 plus
Windows 11 Home (Issue still happened on Windows 10)

Oh, my keyboard: Akko World Tour-Tokyo R1 3087. Other keyboard used for testing is a generic Genius keyboard which is around 10 years old.

Edit: I've noticed some strange keyboard lag sometimes, it's barely noticeable but it hints at something being very wrong with my keyboard!! If only I could figure out what it is that it's causing it

Okay I know this isn't part of the troubleshooting but I ran a bench on your specs and it came up with more then how much your 600 Watt PSU can handle at 657. Not saying it could be power but just a thought. Consider also getting another keyboard as well as a newer PSU say 750 Watts just for testing sakes too as seeing that 10 years old description gives me tears but also cringes me thinking that it could be compatible with a Windows that more modern than it lol.................................................

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Updated my BIOS.
For the sake of relevance, can you please state the BIOS version you're on?

Clean Windows 11 Installation
After recreating your bootable USB installer for the OS, disconnecting all drives except the one you wished to install the OS into, installing the OS in offline mode?

EVGA 600 BR 80 plus
How old is the PSU in your build?

I have booted into Safe Mode and never encountered this issue, so I am 99% sure that it's a windows problem that somehow persisted from Win10 to Win11.
That would indicate a driver issue/conflict but everything in that mode is consuming less power than when in the proper OS GUI.

I thought about the PSU being the issue at some point, but I couldn't justify buying a new one without making sure that my current one is faulty. If the specs of my computer don't align with my current one then I will look into replacing it ASAP, are there any brands you recommend?

Thank you and thanks for the detailed reply :) I'll try to detail everything as best as I can:

BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5021, 9/29/2024

Yes, I did it like that

How old is the PSU in your build?
I want to say around 4 and a half years

That would indicate a driver issue/conflict but everything in that mode is consuming less power than when in the proper OS GUI.
So as the other user commented, could it be caused by a power issue? They commented my system should run a better PSU, but I'm not sure about what brand and certification to get
