Hey,

Earlier today my computer disconnected from the internet. I tried rebooting my computer as I thought this was just a driver crash or some minor fixable issue. As my desktop appeared, I was still not connected to the internet, so I tried looking at the status of the LAN adapter under "Network and sharing center" --> "change adapter setting", but the device was not to be found. I tried looking for it under device manager and managed to find it by enabling "show hidden devices". The device was grayed out, so I tried uninstalling it, rebooting and doing a fresh driver install, but it didnt work. Whenever I try to install the "Killersuite network driver", I only get the message "you must have proper killer hardware installed in order to install killer performance suite."

Anyone knows what might be the problem?

I have not been having any issues regarding this during the couple of months ive used my "gigabyte ga-z97x-gaming 7" mobo.

Running windows 10

Thanks in advance,
Lars

This could either be one of those weird Windows 10 driver issues where it decides the correct driver is not good enough so it auto updates to one that completely breaks the component it is for or there is actually a problem with your NIC. What version of the driver are you using, Win 10 or Win 8/7? Have you tried the older version? Something similar happened to me when I upgraded from Win 7 to 10 and my touchpad decided to stop doing things that I kind of liked such as two finger scrolling, two finger right click and pretty much and multi-touch gesture. Installing the old Win 7 driver fixed it until Win 10 decided to auto update it again. BTW, I am using Win 10 Home, what are you using? I had to install this fix to disable updates to my touchpad driver and force it to use the old one: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 If that doesn't work at all and no other versions of the driver work (you might want to try this as a desperate measure: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/guide-turn-your-killer-e2200-nic-into-qualcomm-atheros-ar8161.198899/) then it is possible that the NIC itself is shot (and killed, pun intended). RMA asap if that is the case.

I WAS using the windows 10 latest driver. Tried two older drivers as well. Currently not using any drivers, as I cant install any. Problem is that the driver installation doesnt seem to detect any compatibe hardware (Which in this case would be the onboard LAN component) and thus not letting me install the driver.

It is most likely a hardware fault then if Win 10 doesn't see anything at all. Your best option would be to RMA it unless it is still within the window where you can return it to the retailer you bought it from which might save you some time and the cost of shipping it (unless you bought it online in which case RMA it to Gigabyte under warranty). They have pretty good customer service, just fill out the form and wait for an email with instructions on how to send it.
