i recently purchased a ASrock z97x killer atx lga 1150 mobo and on the the "features" is the killer network manager which was all fine and good, i installed it and began playing games and the normal internet shit. but then i moved and started paying for my own internet and i realized that i was getting less then half the speeds i was paying for (about 20/3 instead of the 50/10 im paying for) so phone call after phone call with comcast ive come to the realization its not the ISP its self, it has to be a diffrent problem, i did get almost all the the premium channels for a few months free though. so i was digging around and read that killer network manager can screw with your internet so i thought i would give it a try so i uninstalled it and ran my PC with Wifi and the increase was rather dramatic.

Now, is there a was around using the killer network driver to connect directly through a ethernet cord or am i stuck with either that or wifi?

You might be able to tune the network setting with the killer app. By default reserve bandwidth to try to makes games run faster. You see many complaints like yours where the killer network stuff actually degrades the performance.

It is all pretty silly since it can only control traffic that the single machine is using. If another device is using your internet connection then there is no way it can even think to control the internet. What it going to send a automated email to your iphone and tell it to stop using internet because you are playing a game. If you only have a single machine then it should not be too hard to just not download big files when you play games or whatever. Why would you need software to...

See which applications are hogging bandwidth and tune performance for each, so they don't interfere with your online gameplay or other streams.

since it is an app, isn't there any settings you can change?

see the program that it shows on the website isnt what was on my computer. all i could do was test my internet speeds and see what was using how much bandwidth and such. im going to download the drivers and utilities again and see if i can figure this out

It depends on the chipset but you can generally load generic atheros drivers for the ethernet card. You would have to dig around and see if you can get the chipset part numbers and then go to qualcomm site and see what you can find
