Kind of an annoying issue with notifications, how do I fix it?

Compared to most of my questions, this one may seem pretty stupid, but it's kind of pissing me off. So my account has an issue where it says I have 1 notification, but really I have 0. Is there any way to fix this?

Click on the "Forum" link in the red bar at the top of the page.
Click on the "Tracked Threads" link on the right side of the page.
Click on the "Mark all threads read" link.

This should clear your Tom's Hardware notifications.
