Hmm? Amazon lists the release date for the UK market as 9th Oct on the pre-order page, with a same-day delivery option during check-out.

amazon.ca started taking preorders for the paperwhite yesterday. It's not taking preorders for the 3G version but shows a release date of November 12 with "email me when available".
