I can't wait to see how this works for sports. As soon as you start celebrating the damn cable box will change the channel on you. What's wrong with a remote does that use too many calories to pick up?
This sounds similar to the CableCard exclusivity when introduced to HTPCs. At first only OEM built HTPC's were allowed access to the hardware. I wonder if they will ever let us DIY-ers add this on to our HTPC's.

actually that was released a while ago to the DIY group, just no one made any CableCards, look into ceton, they are supposed to have a quad tuner that you can get (~$400), though it has been delayed to july

When vegging on the couch, moving my thumb around the remote seems like a lot easier than waving my hands or screwing with voice recognition over the surround sound.
