So I'm quite new to the PC game, but I've got quite a good rig. Recently, though, my SSD has been booting slow, so I checked disk usage and it's using about 40-50% of the disks read/write capacity when the highest usage of any program is ~50MB/s. At boot the drive sits at around 99% usage which makes opening programs sluggish and irritating. I think I know what caused it, which is using too much of the SSD (I got to around 10GB spare at one point before I knew what was wrong). Is there any way to fix the issue without either buying a new drive or doing a fresh install of windows?

Could you list your system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

If you're on Windows 10, what's the usage on your system when idling at desktop's GUI? Have you also made sure you're on the latest BISO update? You could be suffering from a memory leak. Might want to check and see if a repair install changes anything for you.

Specs are:
CPU: i5 7600k
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z270E
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4
SSD/HDD: Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD
GPU: ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1070
PSU: Corsair CS650M
Chassis: NZXT S340 Elite
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Disk usage as I'm writing this is sitting at a nice ~30%, with the only program open being Chrome with two tabs.
