Kingston Hyper x headphones - mic not working

Worked fine on Windows 7 and 8 but now it seems to be...I don't know...it's being picked up but it is not actually picking up sound, just static. I un clicked a bunch of things and played around but I can't get it to work. Anyone know of anything I can do so I can talk to friends on Skype!?

Note: My computer uses the latest version of Realtek HD audio

Things I done and checked:
Plugs are plugged in properly, mic and everything
I unclicked "Allow apps to take exclusive control of this device
Mic level is at 100 and mic boost is at 0.0db

Try updating the realtek HD audio drivers first.
