Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB CL10 only running on CL11

Hi everyone!

After I received my new ram, a Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB 1600Mhz CL10, the first thing I wanted to do is to make sure its running on the correct speed. Then I saw the timings, it was running on 11-11-11-29-40 1T. So I decided to manually set the timings to 10-10-10, but my PC couldnt boot up with CL10. But the ram should run on 10-10-10.
Anyone please could explain to me why I can't lower the timings (to the default settings) and what can limit the ram timings (to overclock) ?

CPU: AMD x4 955 BE (running on 17x200 3400Mhz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P

Hello, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. If we are speaking of HyperX part number KHX1600C10D3B1/8G, the defaulted SPD should be DDR3-1333 timings 9-9-9 @ 1.5V and the OC DDR3-1600 timings 10-10-10 @ 1.5V. Not 100% certian why your motherboard defaulted to CL11 timings other than the possibility of the system defaulting to JEDEC specifications for DDR3-1600 timings which are 11-11-11. Both your Motherboard and CPU support DDR3-1333 natively and DDR3-1600 as overclocking. According to your motherboard manual if using 2 modules it is best to install them in slots DDR3-1 and DDR3-2 which are the two slots closest to the CPU. If you are only using one module than install it in DDR3-1, slot closest to the CPU. Overclocking is done at your own risk but here are some tips to try which may allow it to work. Set the HT Link Frequency is set to X8 which should allow 1600MHz transmission. Memory Clock should be set to x8.00 for the 1600MHz SPD. DDR3 Timing Items should be set to manual to allow changes, then the first three timings should be changed to 10 and the rest left at default. Make sure the DDR3 Voltage is set to 1.5V which should be the default. This should allow the system to run at DDR3-1600 CL10.
