I'm looking to buy a new gaming headset and am sitting on the fence between the Kingston HyperX Cloud Core ($59) and the Corsair Raptor HS40 ($58). Anyone have any input into the two as to which one I should get?

To be honest the best thing out there are Headphones not Headsets so something like these:

Closed back:

ATH M50X

ATH M40X

ATH M30X

Open back:

Senheiser HD 518

Senheiser HD 558

Senheiser HD 598's

The Mic quality on these Headsets is about as good as one of these:

They are the worst of both worlds, if you had to pick between those two I would pick the Hyper Cloud since they're "Over Ear", much more comfortable.

I know too many personal friends who get sucked in by marketing blurb and really regret it later. Basically good headphones are good gaming headphones, no difference...

Hope this helps, and sorry for being, let's face it very condescending. ;3
