I know this may seem silly, but I'm not sure if the Kingston HyperX Fury is the same in the red and blue models. The reason I ask is because the blue model costs $70 for one 8 GB 1866 MHz stick, while the red costs $80 for the same specs. Is the only difference their color or is one better than the other?

Thanks so much,

John

Solution
There are in fact four colours available (black, blue, red and white) and the colours mean absolutely nothing spec-wise.

I've no idea why the red one costs $10 more than the blue.

I know this thread was already solved, but I didn't want to start a similar thread when I could just use this one. I actually have two questions, first, can an AMD Sempron 145 work with 1866 Mhz? I know it won't support 1866 Mhz and will likely downclock to 1333 Mhz, but will it even boot up? I'm asking because I want to buy 8 GB of ram but I'm upgrading to a FX-8370 CPU so I want to buy 1866 Mhz not 1333 Mhz like I have. My second question is if I change the CPU and RAM of my computer and NOTHING ELSE (Same mobo, VGA card) will my OS still boot up? Or would I have to re-format my hard drives and do a clean install? I know I have found some info on google about this but it went both ways, so would like some help from my go-to computer forum!

you can keep the windows installed, you may have to go into bios, select optimal settings and it should adjust the ram and cpu . it should start without a problem. the con side is you may have some corruption in windows, i always just do a fresh install. windows is kinda fusy as we all know. so no you dont have to, but i recommend it.

That's because red is faster like Ferrari (LOL) http://m.bestofmedia.com/sfp/images/design/usr/smilies/lol.gif no difference in performance or specs maybe red is prettier? Check around for a better price if you have to have red.

cause people are sheep and predictable and stupid... i mean why (edited for profanity) does it matter what your pc looks like inside??? they pay 100+ dollars for case and fans with x-mass lights and whatnot.. they care more how their pc looks like than how it performs... -completely the same principle when they buy new car... they don't aim for best engine or fuel consumption or performance, cause ''that one looks more sexy, so i want that one''... believe my i worked as new cars salesman... back to topic -kingston black sells more so the price is higher than blue and there is no difference whatsoever in specs, it's the same ram put in differently coloured heat sink
