I have recently purchased a Kingston HyperX 120Gb SSD.

I have done a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 and Ahci was enabled before installing.

According to AS-SSD Im getting read speeds of around 440mb/s (a little short than its advertised 540mb)
But im only getting write speeds of 130mb/s, this is only slightly faster than my Raptor which I tested at 129mb/s

I have disabled Indexing, disabled Write Cache, disabled defrag and installed the lasted drivers for my motherboard.
I changed the the drive to another SATA3 port and its no different. I changed it to the onboard Marvell SATA3 port and the read speed dropped to about 350mb/s and the write to about 120mb/s

Any ideas of what else can be causing the slow write speed or know what other applicaiton I can test it with?

Current Spec.
CPU intel 2500K
ASUS P8P67 LE Motherboard
Kingston HyperX SSD 120Gb
Raptor 450Gb HDD

Thanks

Do you have the latest firmware for your ssd? you should check the kingston site to make sure. Some of the SSD's required firmware updates from the get-go to get close to their advertise speeds.

Hi Again,

I forgot to mention that I checked the firmware before I installed Windows.

But I think Dereck47. I think you have nailed the issue on the head. ATTO is reporting 520mb/s write and 555mb/s read.

I read on several sites to disable it. I dont understand the logic but I think it was more a case of it can help prolong the life of the drive.
But I think the same article stated that it will take 7-10 years before the performance drops significantly and by that time you would have got another drive.
