I have a couple of HP Z230's with nVidia K4000 cards installed. Recently we decided to upgrade them to 32GB RAM. Using the part selector at Kingstons site I came up with this RAM as a compatible model.
https://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search?model=85694&devicetype=1&mfr=HEW&line=Workstation
It says quite specifically it's system specific for this model of workstation. Yet when this RAM is installed, in either 2x8GB or 4x8GB configuration, the machines will have sudden power off restarts. The only information in the event log is that they there was a unexpected kernel power off... same as if you pulled the plug at the wall. The machines continue to work fine with the original factory RAM installed.
I've updated the chipset and BIOS drivers. I ran system diagnostics and perfmon and I can find no other errors or warnings.

What to do? Where to to look next?

Many thanks
