Hello,

I've got a 240 GB Kingston SSD V300.
I copied my old HDD to my SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
It has been working like a charm for 2 weeks.
After three week I got random startup failures. No disk connected it said. But when booted it worked perfectly. After a few more week my audio was gone. So I thought a reboot might solve the problem. After reboot I got a blue screen saying windows is damaged and I need an Install CD to recover. How is this possible? Is my SSD damaged?

Solution
Hey there, Andries96!

It might be a loose SATA cable or outdated SATA/ chipset drivers, make sure you have those updated from the motherboard manufacturer's website. However, it seems like your Windows Installation is corrupted. I don't think that the SSD is to blame, though. I'd recommend you back up any important data from your system and perform a clean install of Windows on the SSD. However, make sure you unplug the HDD from the SATA ports until the installation is completed. Otherwise, you might encounter an OS confusion which would result in a lot of booting issues. You can check some Windows Install & Optimization guides for SSDs and HDDs for a more detailed assistance.

Hope it helps. Keep me posted if you have...
