So I am trying to read a Seagate 160GB ST3160021A 3.5" HD with the device. I Have no jumper attached also. Before this, I had attached and successfully read and altered a Maxtor MaxLine Plus II 250GB with no issues.
Basically, it is showing up when I go into control panel>devices as USB Mass Storage device, but when I check properties and examine info it won't populate or give any info. It doesn't show up in My Computer at all and I'm not quite sure where to look in BIOS for the external drive being attached through USB.
The other thing to add to this is that I am running Windows 7 on a Dell and both of these drives came out of my rather old HP. The one I am having trouble with was the main C: drive and the one that i was able to read was used primarily for media storage.
