I am surprised that there are still low-end tables out there available that are running Android 2.1...

Its nice to see that this tablet is updated from 4.0 but for this price point its better to go with the Nexus 7.

Very impressed with how easy my update went: fast/flawless! Arc has been working very well since updated a few days ago and I definitely notice increase in speed/smoothness ('buttery') and like the new features 4.1 brings.

The amazon one mentioned above is very well spec'd and gets good reviews. I went with the Kobo Arc because of how open the tablet is re: I can use Amazon Kindle App. and any other reader and I have access to tons more apps etc. I do not like the way Amazon locks you in... best to make sure hubby does not either
