Korean PLS monitor and 7950

I am buying a 27 inch korean PLS monitor with dual link Dvi port for 1440 resolution. I am also getting a new 7950 to power it, but I am thinking about getting 2 of the monitors. I know I need 2 dual link Dvi ports or a converter, but is it possible to leave the 5850 I currently have and add the 7950 to the system? Running each monitor on a separate card?

Or should I just buy the 80 dollar adapter? If so, which one works best?

Or is there is a video card around 300 with 2 dual Dvi ports?

I would advise getting a HDMI monitor. That card support high resolutions, let alone 1440, don't waste your money on a card like that for low resolutions

I believe you misinterpreted the OP, he's talking about 2560x1440, not 1440x900

What ports do the monitors have? 2560x1440 @ 60Hz is too much for single-link DVI, but dual-link DVI, HDMI, and Displayport should be able to handle it.

You can't use both cards in the way you're wanting to, and i don't know of any cards anywhere near $300 that have dual dvi-d. almost all cards have a single dvi-i and a single dvi-d (the ones that have dual dvi). The adapter is probably your best bet.

This is probably the best solution. Another option would be get one monitor that only has DVI-D and one that also has HDMI and/or Displayport. Then there's no need to worry about adapters or overpaying for a GPU with the ports you need.

No one games on 2 screens -- the bevel would be right in the middle. And pretty much any new card on the market will be powerful enough to run 2x 1440p monitors in 2D mode. 2GB should be fine for any single card running a single monitor. AAA FPSes at large resolutions with lots of AA may exceed a 2GB frame buffer, but you'll probably run out of GPU power before that happens anyway (unless you're running more than one GPU). Adding VRAM does not magically make a GPU faster.

I went with the 7950 for the 3gb as I hear it is helpful for 1440p monitors. I originally planned on a Gtx 760, but changed my mind.
