Looking for any info for a Kortek Arcade Monitor, that is in a
Racing Game (Namco Crusin Exotica). 32 inch monitor tube.
Monitor is perfect except pincushioning on sides of image (curved inward). I cannot find an adjustment that corrects it, although there is what appears to be a width coil which I have not yet touched. It would appear to be more like a cap that is going bad in the horizontal cuircuit. No visible signs of resistors burned or cap that is puffed out or leaking. There is a little daughter board with an adjustment on it near the horizontal ckt, that appears to possibly be loose where it plugs in, so I will probably check that to be sure it is not a cracked trace, as moving it did not produce any effect. Game is still playable but be nice to correct the image to proper. Thanks for any info.
I was not able to see a model number on it, anywhere.

your right up my 'ally' so to speak. used to fix various analog monitors for a living.

quick and simple.. do the width controls work normally?? if so, then likely a dried out cap, next possiblity is a bad transistor.

if the width controls dont work normally, suspect the bad transistor first, then the dried caps. in this case, the transistor will usually be on a heatsink, and a to-220 package or larger due to the amount of power its required to dissapate.

I have a kortek 1703na that has a pincushion problem as well, have replaced all the caps, and the pincushion problem was solved, pulled the monitor out of the tester for 24hrs, put it back in the tester and the pincushion problem re-occurred, replaced cap at 421 and the problem was solved again, removed monitor again for 24hrs and it came back again. Any ideas?
