KOTOR2 - do finesse feats stack?

My Jedi Sentinel is concentrating on dual weilding. His STR is 10 and
his DEX is 14 which gives him +2 on DEX related stuff.

I see 2 finesse feats available. The finesse: melee weapons and
finesse: lightsaber. Do they stack? Let's say I pick finesse:melee
and that gives me +2 "to hit". If in the future I add
finesse:lightsaber and equip a lightsaber, do I get another +2.... a
total of +4 "to hit"?

Another question. If my STR is 8, giving me -1 bonus. Does this mean
I hate a -1 penalty "to hit" even though I have finesse feat?

Going the Sentinel route you'd probably be better off going for Str,
you'd get the same hit bonuses but a good deal more damage.

If by "stack" you mean, do they both count at the same time, the
answer is yes. If by "stack" you mean, can they both apply to the
same weapon the answer would be yes if the game had weapons that were
in two different weapon classes at once but the game has no such
weapons.

No, because lightsabres aren't classified as melee weapons. However
if you had a vibrosword in one hand and a lightsabre in the other,
each would get your Dex bonus to hit (assuming that your Dex bonus is
higher than your Str bonus).

>Another question. If my STR is 8, giving me -1 bonus. Does this mean

No, although you will still retain the -1 to damage.

Good plan, I did similar except I have 8 STR and DEX. I did that to
make my guy a gimp, but it doesn't work. The "to hit" values get so
damned high by midgame that the measly -1 penalty is trivial. In any
case, i suspect your guy will be plenty powerful... Sentinel seems to
be the starting class of choice.

Nope... Lightsaber != Melee weapon, when it comes to feats. Same with
weapon focus and specialization, they count as different class
weapons.

>Another question. If my STR is 8, giving me -1 bonus. Does this mean

No, your "to hit" will be based on dex bonus, but you will get a -1 on
damage for the low strength.

BTW, Mira is a psycho! I saw somebody posting how wimpy she is and how
much trouble they had defeating the wookie down in the hideout, but
those people must have been idiots. I gave her my spare 9-42 damage
repeating blaster and with her improved close combat and improved
rapid fire she toasted that monkey in 2 bursts. On difficult settings.
Almost had me starting over to make a blaster/close combat specialist,
that was pretty damned impressive.

Now she's a Dark Jedi with Lightning as her only force power and she's
the only NPC I don't have to micromanage. It's all bappata-babbata-bap
with the blaster and the she fries em with lightning when they get
close. People must be on drugs saying she's a wimp, she could prolly
take out my main character in a computer run fight.

Too bad about the Handmaiden. She's supposed to be the love interest,
I suppose, but all she does out in the field is get knocked
unconscious a lot. And she doesn't wanna be a Jedi yet, she's still
hanging out in the cargo hold waiting for somebody to show up fore her
special kung fu classes. Bah. I had high hopes for her, but she's just
too far behind the curve now. Dunno what they were thinking... Mira
went Jedi as soon as I picked her up. WHat's his face the whining
swashbuckler went Jedi at the first stop. But the handmaiden? Hell no.
Oh well, at least she got me in to see the giant slug.

But back to my orignal off topic... Mira kicks ass. And she's funny
too. Not only that, she has valuable skills. Hell, she could play the
game herself without my main character. Mira's a wimp. Indeed. Guy
prolly equipped her with a baseball bat and had her trying to melee
the wookie.

You you have high Wisdom ? If so, that will account for you high
success rate with Force Push. Mine os 14, so I nly get a +1 modifier
to force powers, and things are a little more challenging...

Yes, my biggest complaint with the game (other than the game engine
they used) is the difficulty factor. When fights are so easy that you
don't even care about new abilities and new items, half the fun of the
game is gone.

Then change the difficulty level in the Gameplay options. Duh!

If you'd prefer a less arrogent response, I recommend dropping KotOR
altogether and trying to get a hold of the original Fallout games. They
can be quite hard.

I played through the entire game on difficult, and it was pathetically
easy. I killed Darth Whatever (the one on the Dead Ship) in two
attacks. He never hit me.

At the end of the game, with bonuses my stats were:

Jedi Consular 15
Jedi Master 9 I think.

STR 16
DEX 20
CON 17
INT 18
WIS 39
CHR 18

VIT 259/259
FORCE 645/645
DEFENSE 42

So my wisdom modifier was +14. I think if you have to deliberately
cripple your character to make the game a challenge, the difficulty is
out of whack.

I could force push all day without my force points budging because of
my force regen and nobody could resist it with the exception of the
Darths, sometimes. And my Master Flurry Double Edged Lightsaber
generally did about 200 damage per round. (5 attacks x 40 damage per
attack).

Yeah, since posting, I've got a lot further and with all the +Charisma
items, mine has been boosted from 15 or so to 37 or 38...

Towards the end (last 2 planets) I found a ridiculous number of items
to boost stats - I think my Dex was around 28, too.

And I too discovered the joy of Master Speed and Master Fluffy....

Yeah. It's like they calibrated the difficulty for somebody who would
assign stats and items completely randomly, so that they might end the
game with 16 Wisdom, echani light armor, and a vibroblade.

If you put any kind of thought at all into equipping your character
(you can still do the stats randomly) then the game becomes a
cakewalk. You can easily stack +15 Wisdom with items.

A couple reasons, but the major one is that as a Jedi Consular/Master
I had the Battle Precognition force power. Battle Precognition adds
your Wisdom modifier to your Defense.

My Wisdom was 39. That's +14 to defense from Wisdom alone(!) Not
bad.

I should mention that at the endgame, my defense was really 54 since I
kept "Force Enlightment" running at all times, which meant I was
always under Master Speed, Master Valor, and Master Force Armor.

So I should have listed "54" not "42".
