I just picked up an Aorus 1080ti with an EKWB waterblock, but no original stock cooling components. I’ve settled on doing a custom loop as I might as well considering I have some of the parts to do and to finally venture into custom water cooling, but it’s going to be a little while as I map out how I’m going to do so.

In the meantime I would like to run the 1080ti, but since I don’t have the original stock components I can’t switch back to that, but I do have a Kraken G12 setup for a 980ti on another system that I easily swap out.

My only question is do I need to worry about the lack of a backplate and VRM/MOSFET/VRM heatsink cooling on the 1080ti? I’ll have two 360mm rads, one on a pull and one on a push config so airflow won’t be an issue, alongside the G12’s 92mm fan. The 980ti has a cooling plate for the PCB cooling, but my 1080ti does not, and it has me a little worried.
