Hey guys,

Looking to pickup a pair of KRK RP5-G3 for my computer setup. My current receiver does not support RCA speakers so I am wondering what I need to run these and a KRK 10 S sub. I was looking at the Asus Xonar STX soundcard but i don't know how I will run my sub through it. I currently have a Creative x fi titanium but I dont think it can do all this unless I am missing something?

For reference:

If you guys could make any recommendation on what to look for be it a soundcard or amp/receiver it would be a huge help.

You're going to have the same problem with the ASUS card so not worth it but the Creative card will work and it's a very good card. You will have to run a stereo mini plug "Y" to stereo(red/white) rca plugs from the sound card to the sub line in and then the line outs to the front mains. Which will allow the sub to use the crossover point.

One thing to try and see if this works better is run, using a stereo mini plug to "Y" RCA directly into the mains and another stereo mini plug to "Y" rca to the line in on the sub. You may have to fiddle a little with it software and/or plug wise because the output from this sound card and others use a combination center/sub channel. Meaning it has 2 channels but one channel is the sub channel and the other is a center channel.

The second option might work better but it would only cost a little more to buy an extra stereo mini to "Y" rca to try it out.

You won't need an amp or receiver since the speakers are powered and the sound card will work great.

Be seeing you, the Prisoner...

Looking at the back of the Subwoofer it has RCA Output. So could I run Rca from the creative to Rca in to the Sub then Rca out to the Monitors?
