Hi,

I want to know how to use 1 monitor, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse for an iMac and a desktop PC.

what i am trying to do is run the iMac using my 26" samsung monitor with my mouse and keyboard.

I did some research online and I found out that there is products called KVM switcher, but most of them comes with VGA or DVI whitch is not what I need, because the iMac doesn't have a vga or DVI,

than I found out that Iogear has some products like the "Iogear GCS661U" whitch doesn't require VGA or DVI, just usb, but this one just works on windows, DAMN!

Anybody has an idea or know a product available that can do the job?

connect iMac to PC and work using the PC monitor and keyboard and mouse.

Thanks

isn't there an adaptor for the mac so that you can plug into it w\ a dvi cable? Then, assuming mac would have an idea of what to do w\ the kvm's usb you plug into it.. you should be ok.

thanx, I found out that my iMac has a mini DV-I whitch can be connected to normal DVD-I and than to the KVM switch, so there is no problem anymore for the connection.

The problem is the KVM DV-I are so expensive compare to the KVM VGA, you can find a KVM vga for about $30, but for the DV-I the cheapest one I found was around $95.

I am looking for KVM (2 ports, DV-I, USB-2, Win/Mac support) if somebody knows some good products and cheap let me know, the one I found was the TK-204UK
http://www.trendnet.com/langen/products/proddetail.asp?prod=170_TK-204UK&cat=105 but man they still expensive compare to the VGA.

thanks
