While I was studying, I noticed one definition in my book about CPU cache memory. By the book, the L1 cache is located on the CPU, L2 can be located on the CPU or motherboard, and L3 on motherboard. I found out that many articles on the internet are stating something similiar. I know that at some point, this was definition was true.
Am I right about the L1,L2, and L3 cache being on the CPU itself on almost all newer CPU's?
Could it be true that so many articles are outdated? I just want a confirmation on this and an explanation.
