Although my La Cie hard drive IS visible in DISK UTILITY, which I was also able to use to check and repair it, I cannot access it to see what files are on it. It accepts backups via Time Machine and, if I unplug it, I do get the standard error message warning me NOT to unplug it (!), so it is clearly connected to my Mac. Nevertheless, I cannot "see"it and therefore cannot access the files on it.
