Question Lag after ram update

Hello,I have g31m3-l v2 / g31m3-ls v2 MSI Motherboard.I have 2GB ddr2 ram memory,and want to add 2GB more ram so to have 4GB ram.When I tried that(I put another 2GB ddr2 ram to have 4gb equal) and restarted pc,PC was lagging,even windows loading was slow.Any help?

Memory that old, DDR2, the recommended memory to use are ones manufactured at the same time and in the same batch.

It looks as if the new memory is not compatible with old memory. Try removing the old and trying just the new.

Sounds like a timing issue between the new RAM and the old. Get yourself a new 4GB (2 x 2GB) kit. Trying to match with the old is just about impossible even something with the same model number could have different timings now since that RAM is so old,
