Lag in Overwatch

Solution
If you use NVIDIA Geforce Experience, then you can use that app to optimize your video settings for Overwatch so that you can find an ideal balance between performance and quality. In Overwatch, turn on DISPLAY PERFORMANCE STATS, making sure "show framerate" is turned on. You can increase or decrease settings in Geforce experience until you get consistent 165fps

Are you sharing internet with anyone in your household?
Have you checked to see if any programs are running in the background?
Overwatch update running while you're on overwatch?
When did this lag occur?

There was an nvidia geforece experience update issued july 23... check for nvidia updates?

Have you tried resetting your cable modem? router? Maybe it's an issue with your isp?
I have spectrum internet and for the past week or so there have been slowdowns and outages in my area. I called spectrum and an automated message stated there was an outage in my area.... but you don't get noticeable lag when playing other heroes?

I did have it on Max fsp which is 300 and I still have it so I just turn up some of the graphic so I would look better.

You may get screen tearing when your gpu outputs more display frames than your monitor can handle.

I would change your Overwatch settings and limit FPS to DISPLAYED-BASED. At your current overwatch video settings, your GPU is clearly pumping out more frames (250fps) than your monitor can handle (165hz), basically wasting frames and probably causing screen tearing. Give that a try :D

So then should I just set it to around 200fps then? But how do I prevent screen tearing?
