Lag Issue with recently installed Asus HD 7770

I'm having a problem with my Graphics card, it lags when i'm playing games that requires a card that is eqaul or better than GeForce 9600 GT. My HD 7770 is massively better but i'm still having problems playing games in medium settings. My card doesn't feel stable at all. I even tried overclocking it abit to improve performance. I've installed drivers for my card from the CD given from the box. I've also tried downloading, the 13.4 version and it fails.

The label on my PSU says 375W but there no brand name on it

That's an 8 year old processor and I'd guess there's no way it can feed that gpu even tho it's entry level. Cpus have a 4 or so year lifespan for gaming.

Yeah i know this PC is old. I was planning to build pc in August but jsut wanted to make sure theres nothing wrong with the card. Having an old CPU doesn't affect why I can't download the latest driver does it?

Do u play games like Crysis 3, BF3, FC3? Probably the problem is the CPU. Though it has high clock but the architecture is completely out of date. Check this out: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Pentium+D+3.00GHz. Even nowadays intel mobile Atom processor beats Pentium D. It lay low even in low mid range CU. U should consider building a new one for high-demanding games.

Cpu shouldn't affect driver dl but the whole platform may cause problems.

But obviously your CPU drags your performance. Atom Processor couldn't handle it as we know. And Pentium D scores even lower, so your CPU is the fault. Even a 7770 won't solve this problem with this crap processor.
