Hello there community,

Recently over Christmas I acquired a new ssd that solved my old lag issue. After about 3 weeks of having it, I randomly start getting lag spikes. For example: In CSGO, every time a 5 team pushes me my game spikes, or when an explosion happens, or even when I get a round ending kill. The game freezes. This also happens in other games. Like Dirt3 and American Truck Simulator. I built this computer in August of 2016 and I don't want to believe it is already broken. If anyone has any info on this issue PLEASE let me know ASAP. I'm really starting to get sick of this problem. Specs are below

[CPU] - i7 4790k
[GPU] - MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X (8G)
[MOBO] - MSI Z97-Gaming5
[RAM] - 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro (Silver)
[Storage] - 2TB WD Caviar Blue and a Crucial 240GB SSD
[PSU] - Corsair RM650i

Thanks,

Zach

Yes sir. :)

Alright, so when I play a game like: CSGO, GTA V, American Truck Simulator. Pretty much anything with intensive graphical explosions or something like that. My game freezes during the critical parts. Like when im about to shoot an enemy i freeze and then unfreeze after im dead. It's getting to the point where I can't even play the game. I thought that upgrading to an ssd would fix that problem and it did for about 2 to 3 weeks and then now I get random lag spikes again.

Have You tried to lower the graphics setting?
Also Turn Off "Sync every frame".

But most important: check if Your CPU is actually having to deal with other tasks tgha is CPU dmanding?
Like a virus or something?

Check which processes and services that is most demanding, to see if something strange going on:
Start > type Resource > click Resource Monitor > open up the window so you better can see > click Overview > make sure that you can see both Processor and Disc windows.
and then sort by clicking the CPU column (in both windows) and make sure that the very tiny arrow point downwards - it will sort all the most demanding processes with the highest from top > Take a screen shot of that.
Then click the processor tab so You also can see Services, sort on the CPU column so the little arrow points.

Best regards from Sweden
