Lag spikes on GTX 1080

I have only recently entered the PCMR but I have been having a few issues. I have got an Amd system running a ryzen 1700x and I got myself a GTX 1080 windforce edition on a good deal. However, I am still having meh frames. I have two ideas what could be causing it. I only have 1 stick of 2400mhz ram and a 550w PSU. If I was looking to upgrade one of these two parts now and the other next pay packet what would you guys suggest to do first.

Some of the games where I experience issues is in overwatch where if too much is going on then I will get a tiny lag spike and WOW which even on my machine can struggle to push 75 frames open world and 40 frames in cities and raids. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Its probably the fact you are using Single Channel slower speed RAM. Ryzen does significantly better with dual channel fast 3200mhz is ideal RAM.
