First of all my specs: i5-4570 with a GTX760 graphics card

The problem I'm having is this....I essentially have 3 monitors hooked up to my computer. Two computer monitors hooked up to the DVI ports and my tv hooked up to the hdmi port of my graphics card. I would like to be able to watch HD videos in VLC on my tv and at the same time play a game or watch another video fullscreen on my computer monitors. If I try to do this now the video on the TV lags a bit...it gets a bit choppy. I've heard that people have changed some of the settings in VLC and it's helped them, but I haven't had any luck with this.

Solution

u can change the output divx and turn off the hardware acceleration in the vlc preferences menu.. try that and tell me if it works

Thanks for your response! Will turning off hardware acceleration affect the quality of the video playback in this case? What is the primary benefit for having it turned on?

hardware acceleration doesnt affect the video quality it is there to speed up video on systems with weak cpu ..
