I have some performance troubles with my CPU. I have it OCed to 4.5 GHz (1.26 voltage), tried to 4.7 GHz (1.36 voltage). It just lags in almost every game. I cant receive any stable FPS.
I have 2070 Super (yeah, bottleneck) 2K monitor, but in BF1 on low settings it 50 fps, drops to 20 (ridiculous), in BF5 60 and lower, lowest settings.
And it lags, not just low FPS, but constant drops and freezings.
I guess problem with software, but idk where to start. I had i3 6100 and 960 before, it felted much better.
I do not understand why i cant recieve stable gameplay, only drops. On my i3 6100 never had that problem, had better smoother gameplay in BF1 BF5.
In benchmarks all is ok, stable test is ok, temperatures 50-55 in 100% load, all cores work constantly at 100% in games (basically in all games), graphic card 30-40%
Or is it just problem that CPU is weak? 7700K would be much better?
MB Asus Z170K, 16 gb ram, 2070 super, 550w

Yes, you are bottlenecked. Regardless of how much you OC that CPU.

Your CPU is 4c/4t, of course it's stuttering in BF1. Whilst BF1 isn't exactly CPU bound, having 4c/4t can really hobble you. This is quite simple. Set up MSI Afterburner OSD, to show your CPU/GPU usage and temps. I suspect you will see your CPU at 100% Usage. If so, then you know where the stuttering is coming from.

7700k give you a bit more (4c/8t) host processing, but even it is finding things difficult as games become more and more demanding. Temps are almost irrelevant when your CPU is maxing out.

Time for a system upgrade, to get the best from your 2070.

Yeah, probably i`ll go for it soon. Thought about 11600k-12600k.
