i play fortnite on my laptop but the game always lags and glitches. what can i do?

You have too low and slow ram. Your Graphics chip is also not suited for Fortnite.
Your Laptop seems like a "work" laptop rather than a gaming laptop...

Also, when loading fortnite,it comes up with a sign saying my amd graphics driver has known issues and is not up to date. however, i am unable to update drivers; it tells me they are up to date

Your laptop isn't the best for playing games but you should be able to run it at at least 20 FPS according to this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUp2RMMteio

You are most likely getting the error that your graphics drivers are not up to date as your GPU is very old, dating back to 2008 and according to the AMD website the last update for that GPU was in 2013.

You could try Razer Cortex: Game Booster

Also install CCleaner and run it, plus do a registry scan on CCleaner (backup the .reg file just in case something goes wrong later on).

Glary Utilities is also a good piece of software for clearing unnecessary items from your computer and speeding it up.

You can also defragment your drives.
