Lagging in games at night with new netgear night hawk router

Got a new tri band night hawk router. r8000P It works most of the time, but at night time, it lags and Destiny 2 and battle front 2 are unplayable. I get Buffalo and centipede errors in destiny 2, and error 201 in battlefront 2.

The fact it happens at night and not in the day makes me think its an ISP issue. I can game for hours in the mornings. Have Cox internet, 150 mbs internet. But this happened a day after I got the new router so i dont know if its a coincidence or not.

I have UPnP enabled and a static IP for the gaming PCs on the LAN. And Nat set from strict to open in the router. What settings are optimal for gaming in this router?

ALso it gets better after a router reset sometimes.

Seems unlikely to be the ISP if you didn't have issues before.

Is this wi-fi or Ethernet?
If it's wi-fi try the Ethernet (wired) instead. I saw this:

That's an OLD post so I'd try the newer firmware if there's newer than what you have or even try to rollback as:
"Try version 1.0.3.54. it has been very stable for most of us"

Again that's for WIRELESS not wired.

Latest firmware appears to be:

1.3.0.10

If you have EARLIER consider upgrading:

I did a factory reset and redid all the settings and have the firmware version V1.3.0.10_1.2.2

It doesnt auto download 1.0.3.54 when i go to update the firmware on the routers page. Do I need to download it direfctly from net gear?

Ill see if it works today/tonight. I have 7 days to figure it out before i cannot get a refund at best buy or a replacement. My PC is on a wired connection.
