Question Lagging out of games with wired connection

Does anyone know why even though I am using a wired connection I still lag out of games? This happens most noticeably in fortnite and it is very frustrating.

No it also does it with WiFi, which is why I made the switch to wired in the first place.

only 1 game having issue?

It’s connected directly into the modem, it happens on my brothers pc too, not just one game it happens in all online games too, I have not contacted isp.
