I will do my best to explain what is happening. I work from home on my computer everyday. For instance if i am reading a document or web page for a little bit of time, it is almost like my computer goes into some kind of sleep/power mode. Because once I try and access a file there will be a delay and then I hear a "click" sound then off it goes. From there forward everything works fast and no delay until idle again. Any thoughts??

Also something similar with my volume control. I will use the volume control on my keyboard and nothing will happen. Then all at once all the adjustments are done at the same time. Again, after this it works flawlessly until idle again.

Thanks for your time

Ok go back in there, next to high performance theres a link "Change Plan Setting", click that then at the bottom theres "Change advanced power settings", click that. The second selection is "Hard Disk", in there you can tell it to not turn off the hard disks after no activity. Then scroll down to "USB settings" and open that and disable selective suspend.
