Lagging while recording games

Hi all, I recently built a gaming computer on which I was hoping I would be able to record my games with. But whenever I start to record (on Open Broadcast Software) my FPS drops so low. The only way I can record is to minimize the settings of my recording software. But i'm sure no one wants to see a a video in 240. Also, Open Broadcast Software gives me a warning saying, "Warning: High Encoding CPU USAGE! CONSIDER TURNING DOWN SETTINGS."

My specs are: AMD A6-7400k Radeon R56 compute cores 2c+4g 4.3GHz (2cpus)
AMD Radeon HD 7900 series
Asus A88x-PRO ATX FM2+
Mushkin Stealth 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

What can I do to improve the video capture of my games?

Correct your CPU seems to be the current bottleneck, and sadly on the FM2 socket they don't get too much stronger then this, since they mostly for Integrated graphic pc's without a videocard.
Best bet on your current socket would be something like this

the FX-8350 does not fit in FM2 socket and would need a AM3/AM3+ motherboard.

This is a quite common setup for people doing recording/encoding. I personally have the Intel CPU mentioned above and love it, but I favor it over the FX-83xx series specifically because I do...

After your CPU, your Hard drive might be the next point to bottleneck down the line if the Writespeed is low and your outputing your recorded files at a high KBPS. But as mentioned by others above, its purely the Dual Core setup your problem for now. I dont think you mentioned what games you were playing? If its a title like BF4 which can already fully use up a Quad-Core your current CPU stands little chance.
