Hello, I've been having an issue with my internet connection lately.

I'm aware that about every hour or so IP addresses are refreshed throughout the network, but recently my PC with a LAN connection has its internet cut out for a solid 20-30 seconds each time IP addresses is refreshed. I looked up how to avoid this and set a static IP for my PC, but the issue has still persisted. Is there something I'm missing? My router model is a Motorola SBG6580

Are you able to lengthen the lease time?

Did you reserve the static IP for your PC using the PC's MAC?

Also that static IP should be outside of the allowed DHCP IP address range.
Every time I've tried to reserve an IP address through the router outside the DHCP range the router gives me an error saying that it must be within the DHCP range.

The other possible causes it offers are that the IP address I'm trying to reserve is already in use (which can't be true based on current settings) or that the address already exists in the lease reservation table (which shouldn't be possible since the starting address is above the address I'm trying to reserve).
