I recently bought a new notebook, which came came with windows 10. For personal reasons, I don't quite like it, so I've formatted from scratch to windows 8.1. Having done similar precesses in the past, I was quite sure about being able to get the drivers up and running in no time, but, to my dismay, that didn't work quite like I wanted it. I've even made a backup of the notebook drivers when the OEM OS was still on the drive.

My notebook is an ASUS X555LF-BRA-XX190T, which I believe enters into the X555LF category, whose drivers can be found here:

https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/X555LF/HelpDesk_Download/

After having tried almost all options in the driver download page, I'm actually running out of options on what to try to sove this problem. I've tried the both the LAN and the WLAN drivers, from both 8.1 and 10 versions, to no avail.

Any insights on waht to do? Thx in advance.

Solution
try to find the lan and wlan chipset and look up the drivers from the manufacturer of the wireless chip and see if those work better. I know I've had to do that to get Bluetooth working on certain laptops when I switched to unsupported OS's
