Well, I just read Darren's article on the LAN ETS held here in Montréal recently. I just want to express the following opinion. It's sad that most non-Canadians (or non-Montrealers) still think of our part of the world as the "Great White North". True, our winters are cold, but summertime sees the temperature rise regularly above 90 degrees (30 Celsius). The "Great White North" is waaaay beyond our latitude point. Anyhow, Californians will never know how much fun it is to drive a Subaru WRX or a Mitsubishi Eclipse on ice or on a pile of fresh snow!

Actually I live in Buffalo NY. I know exactly what you are talking about.

Just to put your comment in perspective... it was SCTV and the McKenzie brothers that called even Toronto, home of the movie "Strange Brew" the Great White North.

Loo Coo Coo Coo Coo Coo Coo Coo!

Were you at LAN ETS? I should be at Pure LAN as well across the river. Maybe you can be my translator...?

Got a LAN Party that you want people to know about?

Let me know about it.

No, I wasn't at LAN ETS. I don't attend LAN parties for a variety of reasons, the first of which is that my wife would threaten to leave me if I was attending one for a weekend, as I spend already a great deal of time on games as it is  . My job schedule is also a hassle. And I don't play LAN parties' usual games that much. I'm more of a KOTOR, Colin McRae and Age of Mythology kind of guy.

Nevertheless, I'm glad to see we are on the same page as far as the Great White North goes  .

Let me know if you're in the area someday, and I'll see if I can free myself for translation purposes  !
