We need to connect six users to our network located 150 feet from the main switch. Is it more efficient to run one cable to a an 8 port switch, or to run individual cables to each user ? Disregarding the initial cost.

Solution
Personally, I'd go with individual cables for each user on the basis that diagnosing problems is easier and you potentially wouldn't have to take the other users offline. You're unlikely to have the users complain about the speed of the connection, but if they do, the process of identifying the root cause becomes much easier if each user has their own connection.
If cost is no option then you always get more bandwidth running 6 cables each which could run 1g...or maybe even 10g. If you were to run a single cable to a switch the users would have to share the bandwidth of the single cable.

Realistically most people run 1 cable to a switch just because it tends to be simpler and in most installation the single cable being shared is not a limitation because of the lack of need for the bandwidth.
