Hi, I'm having trouble with my network.. I'm using LAN cable. I have this strange error, when I boot the computer, the network notification on task bar show yellow exclamation error and showing that there is no internet access. This problem occurs randomly. Sometimes the network notification show exclamation error, sometimes the network worked well, and sometimes the network show exclamation error but suddenly in seconds it goes back on again...
I noticed that this problem occurred sometime after I plug the LAN cable into another computer with another OS (windows XP), the plug it back to my PC (windows 7). When I use the cable in other PC/laptop using windows XP, the network works flawlessly, but when plugged in my PC with windows 7, the problem occurs. It just like the LAN cable/network adapter/network setting get confused after the sudden changes of OS environment (well just my thought, I don't know what the problem really is)
I tried the troubleshooter, and it said windows cannot resolve the problem. I tried uninstalling network card, tried disable then re-enable the network adapter, none worked. From what I read in other forum, I have to select obtain IP address and DNS automatically. I can't do that because my LAN use some certain IP and DNS, changing it to obtain automatically means no network either.
And there is another solution, to restart the services in services.msi that pointed as somewhat important for network like computer browser, network connection, network location awareness, etc. Well that's worked, but only once, as the problem occurred (randomly) again.
The only temporary solution that worked is to keep resetting the needed services, changing the IP address, select validate upon exit in TCP/IPv4 in local area connection setting, or select Enable NETBIOS over TCP/IP..it give my network back, most time, before the problem occur again.
I'm tired fixing this problem every time I plug my LAN cable in.. Any idea guys?
