Lan port not working.

Hi, i bought a new gigabyte MB and i installed windows xp sp3, i installed all the drivers and there were no more yellow marks in the device manager but still the LAN port is not working. i tried formatting it to windows 7 but still not detected, i suspect it is the LAN slot itself, what do you guys think?

Do you see the network adapter in device manager?
Check that it is not disabled in the BIOS.
