I've been troubleshooting this for 2 days now but i cannot wrap around what could be wrong. is it I'm having a bad day with lan cables? my ISP can provide 250-300mbps up and down speed. I have a separate workstation which is 50-60 meters away from the main modem. from the main modem I can get the max speeds if I'm using LAN/WIFI directly to it. But when i use a cat5e or a cat6 wire then to a router to my workstation, i got capped at around 90-95mbps speed. i tried troubleshooting it like buying a 100m cat5e and 100m cat6 lan cables. i even changed my router to a gigabite router. (this was the first issue and i thought it will be answered). but i was still capped at under 100mbps but my transfer speed is already 1gbps says the ethernet adapter general status. in the image i illustrated the different things i tried. as you can see, anything i connected my ISP with a 40m+ long cable it will get capped. what I'll try tomorrow is with a shorter lan cables. the router wasn't the issue because as you can see on the 3rd line, its giving me 250mbps if i use a very short cat5e cable. Can you share anything i can try to troubleshoot this? thanks!

You likely have fake/poor quality cable someplace.

Cat5e is rate to 100 meters at 1gbit. I would not actually run to the full 100 meters but a bit less should not be a issue.

There are massive amounts of fake cable being sold. This cable because it does not actually meet the standards for ethernet cable has all kinds of issues and the longer the cable the worse it gets.

You need pure copper cable not that CCA stuff. The wire size must also be 22-24 none of that flat or thin cable.

Im also thinking this is a fake one. but it says 1000mb speed on transfer. I'm just having issue with internet speed.

did it said 100 meter long lan cable? that the max
i bought specifically 100meter long.

What is the make/model of the router?
Possible it only has 100mbs ports?
i have 2 of the same router type. one gigabite version and one none. i tested the none version and I'm only getting below 100mb when i follow the 3rd line in the picture above. but when i use the gigabite version i get 220+.
I'm using this router

For cable to go 100 meters is needs to be nearly perfect. Although people say they can get them to work longer I have seen that even when you try to go to say 102 meters it will not work.

So when you say you see 1000mb I assume you are seeing that between the PC and the router ? Does the router actually let you see the speed of the cable going between the wan port and the modem

The test you did with a 1 meter cable to the router shows it can get full speed. What speed do you show if you were to hook the 100 meter cable between the router and the PC on the lan side.

Unfortunately when you are running really long cable you need a meter to certify the cable. These are not the $10 ones that check that the pairs are good they are meters that actually verify the cable is meeting the standards. Many cost $1000 or more so they are not something that a home user will consider. Then again with a cable the only option is to cut and recrimp the end anyway and unless you do a lot of these you can end up with it not working at all.
