Primary Router: Arris TG852G (192.168.0.1)
Secondary Router: Belkin N300 F9K1002 v2 Wireless Router (192.168.0.2)
NOTE: These Routers Can't be switched between Primary/Secondary as the Primary Router is my ISP's Configuration/Connected by a Coaxial Cable which the Belkin N300 doesn't have.
Currently I'm Running on a LAN To WAN Setup as LAN To LAN hasn't Connected Properly. I've disabled DHCP and changed the Default Gateway to the Following Above (And Yes I've checked that no device is using that Gateway). I've Even matched the SSID/Security Mode/Pre-Shared Key/Encryption Algorithm AES/Same Subnet Mask. I then unplugged the router and plugged it back in when it was connected to the Primary Router and... Nothing. I retried these steps Seven Times and with no avail I would get no Internet Connection. Mr. Obvious I can't access the Belkin N300's (Secondary Router) Setup Page when DHCP is off so I have to Reset the Router Entirely and Start Over. Meanwhile I'm trying to figure out wtf this is.. (I Apologize for my Language but this simple looking task has gotten annoying so I put some fun into it) Looking Everywhere if this "Use as an Access Point" is a LAN To WAN or LAN To LAN Feature with no Clear Answer what the Feature is. I've seen it used in LAN To WAN on Belkin's Website and Not Used for LAN To LAN so I ignored the Following.. (Image is Suppose to be there, But I couldn't view it in Preview so here is a link instead Image Link of "Use as an Access Point")
I even Followed Belkin's Tutorial on YouTube which is Hidden for whatever reason unless you have the Link, Which I only Found on Belkins Website which is quite annoying as I was doing research on YouTube Earlier. I then looked on Forums finding out to change the Primary Routers DHCP Server Setting if I were using 192.168.0.2 for the Secondary Router I would need to change the Starting Path to 192.168.0.3 which done nothing with a Blinking Orange Light on the Belkin N300 Indicating No Internet Connection. So here I am on the tom's Hardware Forums. I Found quite Numerous related Topics but none of them had the same router and the problems were solved by things I've already done on these Forums so.. I would Appreciate the support.
Also I just checked out the Similar Forums again seeing that the Secondary Router is called an Access Point in LAN To LAN Setups but I tried the Access Point feature but it did nothing.. Also I checked out to Disable NAT but... I don't see a NAT Option in the Belkin N300 Anywhere.. But Some Forums related NAT with UPNP but I'm not that sure that is related in any way.. I gave up after a couple of Hours as my Intellect seems to be defeated by this task. To those asking why am I setting up a LAN To LAN? Well I have a Extra Router Lying around with a Extra Desktop Computer that I would like to use for some games. Reason for the using the Extra Router is because I don't have another Long Ethernet Cable lying around for the Extra Desktop. I only had one Long Cable connected to my Gaming PC from the Primary Router (Arris TG852G) and Two Small Ethernet Cables not being used. So I connected the Extra Router (Belkin N300) to my Long Cable Via WAN and the Two Small Cables to the Two Desktop Computers. However I have a Wireless Connection Setup on the Primary Router (Arris TG852G) so I wanted to use a LAN To LAN Connection so my Wireless Devices used the Same Connection but a expanded range instead of two Different Connections. Just Now I was thinking to move the Primary Router (Arris TG852G) to where my two Desktops are.. But the Coaxial Cable is too Short (I have a Longer one but that would mean disconnecting the Line and Contacting the ISP) and the Two Desktops are in the Front of the House so I would have no range in the backyard but I could expand the Belkin N300 with the long Ethernet Cable to the Backyard Via LAN To LAN. I could just buy another Long Ethernet Cable but I think I would like a LAN To LAN Expansion as my Backyard Signal is weak. Anyway, Thanks For Reading.. I'm Tired Out, Any Support is Appreciated. - Devon M. Scott
