I was removing the battery on my MSI GT73VRE TITAN. It didnt go well the pin to the far right broke. I was a bit upset. I tried to plug it in and it did boot and was able to play the division and it seemed ok. Im asking what was that pin for and is there any harm by still using it. I didnt mention the laptop works un plugged also

Better that than not knowing at all, yes? It would seem you got what you were after and now you should be able to rest easier.

Game on. Enjoy. :)

MSI has never been helpful so im reluctant to do so

It's better than assuming you're safe, but do whatever works best for you. Personally speaking, I'd rather get a more specific answer rather than believing it's okay because nothing has gone wrong thus far.

Your one saving point is that, as you mentioned, it can be used on AC power with the battery out.

I did call them and this is the anwser i got

" It’s one of the negative wire of the battery. It probably will decrease the current a little bit but shouldn’t affect too much."
