hey guys
I have a MSI GE62 6QF and today I see that when i play game its battery percentage come down even it's in the charge . (my battery percentage was in 40%) and when game finished it was 33%.
but when i exit, everthing become normal.
and i have a noise in my speakers just when i play music :/ when i exit the game again everything become normal

So, the pertinent feature here is MSI's "Hybrid Power," which from reading, doesn't appear that it can be disabled on this model laptop.

Further reading indicates, if the battery charge falls below 30%, the laptop down clocks one or more components, and allows the battery to charge back to 80% battery, at which time the parts are then clocked full speed again and the cycle continues.

It sounds like you would need to remove a fully charged battery before gaming to prevent this behavior, which will likely result in reduced performance from your games.

Edit: I came across the same behavior in forums for Acer gaming laptops, so I would consider it likely something you will see across more brands than just MSI and Acer. It may not help to...


That would be a great design flaw, meaning you are using battery even when plugged in and using your laptop? I would return your laptop if I still can

That article has nothing to do with the discussion we are having.

We are talking about the battery draining while under load

The article you posted talks about Macbooks taking a performance hit WHILE running on power but WITHOUT a battery installed.

I do not see the point you are trying to make. Perhaps you posted the wrong article?

The article addresses what seems to be skepticism on your part for my suggested answer. It shows that at least one manufacturer has indeed built laptops that can not function under full load without requiring the battery to provide power as well. The laptops take a performance hit due to down clocking the hardware, to prevent a shutdown caused by the AC adapter being insufficient to power the laptop on it's own, under full load, at full clock speeds.

This sounds exactly like the situation the OP is experiencing. After exiting the game, which leads one to assume the laptop is no longer under heavy load, the OP said "everything became normal."
 


I read the article, it does not exactly mention that the battery trickles down while the system is plugged in and being used (which is what the OP is experiencing), However I fail to see how I displayed skepticism towards your answer.

I simply stated that such a design decision would be a design flaw on MSI's part and that the OP should return their laptop if they still can. I did not say that you are wrong, nor did I ask for the source of your information.

@ OP - Did you notice this issue recently or has your laptop always behaved like that?

i can's see anything on my adapter which shown the amount of watt its provide 🙁 , just voltage and amper :??: , and it was it's original adapter
there is something else that it's good to know, under 30% percentage of battery CPU limits itself on 0.80GHz(throttle) and ufffff such a ******* lags in the games!
 


I didn't pay attention, I just noticed before that when it's fully charged it's not charged till it comes under 90%

 


oh 30% as I said 😀 thank you by the way .
