I bought a used HP Elitebook 840 G3 on ebay. It came without a battery or HDD and was listed as untested.
I also got the needed parts, but now when I boot it up it gives me the following beeps:
two long beeps - two short beeps (this is only once)
three long beeps - two short beeps, which repeat four times.
The lights on the caps lock key and F12 key flash the same pattern. After it goes through the cycle four times, the beeps stop, but the lights still flash. Then the fan starts and that's it. The screen seems to be lit, but stays black. I tried to connect it to a different monitor via VGA and HDMI, but they don't get a signal.
I can't find the BIOS manufacturer, and I don't know what the beeps mean, so I don't know what the problem is. I tried it with the hdd, battery and RAM all installed as well as removed, but I always get the same result.
Any ideas?
