laptop bios update question

im using a Lenovo legion y520 gaming laptop. just wondering if I should update the bios or not. I updated it once last year, and that was scary. another update has popped up. but im afraid of possibly bricking the laptop. please advise. thanks.

I usually don't update BIOS unless I have an issue and the BIOS update will fix it.
When it comes to BIOS updates if ain't broke don't fix it.

It will have to be something major that could impact me directly.... for me to update the BIOS.
